Today, on the Feast of the Sto. Niño, we were blessed to spend time with a group of niños and niñas who are either undergoing cancer treatment or are in the post-chemo monitoring stage. Instead of the familiar hospital halls and clinic rooms, we walked with them in the park—offering them a change of space, fresh air, and moments of joy beyond their usual routines. As the children enjoyed the walk, sponsors and volunteers connected with their parents, listening to their stories and standing with them in their struggles. We shared a brief but heartfelt reminder with the families: that no sickness is too great for God to heal. And even when healing unfolds in ways we do not expect, God can use pain, difficulty, and sometimes even grief to draw us closer to Him and make us holy.
We are deeply grateful to our sponsors for blessing all 16 children with Leigh’s Gift of Hope, which included items from their personal wishlists, along with a mug, t-shirt, and personalized gift bags. Each child also received everyday essentials such as milk, biscuits, and hygiene kits—small things that mean so much to families facing long journeys. We ended the day sharing a simple meal together, like one big family. Today, these children and their families received more than gifts—they received hope. Thank you to all our sponsors and volunteers for making this Feast of the Holy Child truly about the children. Dear Leigh +, may God hold you in His loving light, and may your beautiful memory live forever in our hearts. Amen.
