Generous Living, Generous Giving
“For it is in giving that we receive.” ―St. Francis of Assisi
Tagaytay City, Cavite — Got goosebumps while typing and posting this! We made a public appeal for help in November 2020 to improve living conditions of the lolas by installing tile flooring in their social hall. We asked an experienced master carpenter in October 2020 to measure dimensions of the place before seeking donations. Ate Dolores dela Cruz texted me, "Dok Jeff, length-27. 24 meters, width- 6.83 meters". "Roughly, 200 square meters nga," I said.
I went to Tagaytay today to bring some groceries for them and was surprised to see that they not only were able to lay tile flooring on the social hall (200 sq m) as originally planned but also covered the corridors of their quarters up to two rest rooms! I asked ate where she bought the tiles because I know we bought all 560 pieces from the tile store and no stocks of the same design were left in the inventory. She said, "Y'an po yung sobra sa binili ninyo..." Scratching my head in disbelief, I asked "Considering broken tiles and wastage, paano sumobra?" Clueless but grateful. Thank you all again for your generous sponsorship of floor tiles and adhesive. It's just beautiful to see the body of Christ working together! We only wish you could see the smiles on the lola's faces and how appreciative they are of your gift. We will never forget your generosity and will keep you in our prayers. Lord, thank you that you are able to do a lot with a little and that whatever we give to you, you multiply.

Tagaytay City, Cavite — "Kuya Jeff, may car ako oh," says Aldrin, 4, (not his real name) to me as he welcomed me this morning. I replied, "Eh Isa lang yan. Yung mga kalaro mo walang car. Di bale, may dala akong maraming car. Pwede na kayong magkarera! Pero iinom ka muna ng milk para ikaw manalo sa karera ha!" We ended our conversation with a high five. God in his grace has enabled us to accomplish what we have prayed and hoped for. Thank you so much for your generous donation of baby clothes, toys, milk, diapers, and cash. Your in-kind donations have been packed nicely and delivered to Mo. Spinelli's Treasures in Tagaytay City. Your cash gift was used to purchase essentials like milk catered to the children's age, disposable diapers and rice provision. Knowing that we are in a time of pandemic, your contribution is extra special to us. Everything was a success. Thank you all for being part of this dream … being part of the solution … being part of the work of Jesus! To God be all the glory. |
