We just arrived home from a deeply moving visit to House of Somang (HOPE) in Parañaque, lovingly administered by the Kkottongnae Sisters of Jesus. What a grace-filled afternoon it was. We came bearing simple but meaningful gifts—rice, biscuits, milk, diapers, clothing, and furniture for everyday use. When we arrived, construction was ongoing on the new roofing for their activity center, which is set to be completed in May, just in time for the rainy season. While the sounds of improvement echoed in the background, many of the lolos and lolas were gathered indoors, happily immersed in their favorite teledrama.
We were warmly welcomed by Sr. Peter and the dedicated social workers, who updated us on the progress of the facility. We also learned that four of their forty residents have recently passed on, leaving thirty-six dear lolos and lolas in their care. Even in that tender reality, one thing was clear: they are well cared for—healthy, safe, and surrounded by compassionate hands. Our hearts overflow with gratitude for every donor and volunteer who offered not just resources, but love. Because of you, generosity became tangible. Because of you, hope felt real. If you are looking for a meaningful way to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or even fulfill your company’s corporate social responsibility, consider marking those milestones at House of Somang. Share your joy where it will be multiplied. The lolos and lolas are waiting for you—with smiles ready and stories to tell. We all went home with smiles in our hearts, whispered prayers on our lips, and gratitude that cannot be measured. To God be the glory, forever and ever.
