Generous Living, Generous Giving
“For it is in giving that we receive.” ―St. Francis of Assisi
Blessed Berenice Duque founded the Little Sisters of the Annunciation, a community of religious women dedicated to caring for girls and women who have often been left to fend for themselves. Her ministry, which began in Colombia, has now expanded to 16 countries. In the Philippines, they can be found at Casa Pequeña de Nazaret in BF Resort, Las Piñas, on a street named after Miss Universe Margarita Moran, known for her beauty and intelligence.
We made a quick visit to bring food supplies and say hello. The girls were busy studying but immediately stood up to greet us and ask for a blessing as soon as we arrived. Their studious, polite, and cheerful demeanor is a testament to the amazing work the Sisters are doing in nurturing and caring for them. Interestingly, the girls are learning Spanish through their daily conversations with the Sisters. You can celebrate women’s empowerment by including them in your family milestones, like birthdays and anniversaries. It’s a meaningful way to support their mission while making your special moments even more memorable. “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.” Proverbs 19:17
