Generous Living, Generous Giving
“For it is in giving that we receive.” ―St. Francis of Assisi
Today, Feast of the Sto. Niño, we visited the children at Pequeña Casa de Nazaret administered by the Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Annunciation. The children cheerfully greeted us when we arrived. They were busy preparing for their periodic tests tomorrow. You will never believe how polite and studious the children are until you encounter them yourself. So please pay them a visit too and bring them provisions. We know that we can never care about children as much as God cares about them. Jesus is with children everywhere, in every situation, working to show them his love. To our donors and volunteers, we are able to carry out our mission because of you who selflessly share your blessings. God is your reward. Happy Feast Day of the Child Jesus. Viva, Pit Señor!

You might be familiar with Joan Osborne's song "What if God was one of us," released in 1995. During Christmas, we celebrate the unique moment when God truly became one of us by being born in human form—the Word made flesh. This happened because God desired to live among us, as one of us. Currently, Jesus is present among us, often concealed in strangers, the poor, and the needy. Wouldn't we want to rush to help Him as quickly as possible? In its final mission for 2023, Kairos Momentum (jeffjacinto.com) distributed bags filled with groceries and Tagalog Bibles to Jesuses-in-disguise across Quezon City, Bacoor, Dasmariñas, Las Piñas, and Parañaque on December 16, 2023. Initially perceived as an ambitious project, with the support of generous sponsors and enthusiastic volunteers like you, not only did we surpass the target for bags and Bibles distribution, but we also had sufficient resources to transport and deliver the gifts. "Your Heavenly Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you openly and abundantly" (Matthew 6:4). Thank you for assisting us in expressing love for Jesus hidden in the housekeeping personnel, security guard, driver, street sweeper, parking attendant, garbage collector, pedicab driver, sidewalk vendor, street children, and the homeless through this small yet impactful effort. Merry Christmas and a grace-filled 2024! A common misconception suggests that only the wealthy can engage in charity, implying that those you can’t be charitable if you’re barely getting by. However, the essence of charity lies not in the amount given, but in the amount of love put into giving. In anticipation of Christmas, Kairos Momentum (jeffjacinto.com) organized an early celebration for abandoned babies and vulnerable children at Mo. Spinelli's Treasures in Iruhin West, Tagaytay City yesterday. This event aimed to bring joy to these youngsters who seldom experience festivities due to limited resources. Generous sponsors and dedicated volunteers joined forces to provide gifts like milk formula, diapers, rice provision, and various groceries. A delightful kiddie lunch was also served, creating a special moment for these children. Gratitude is extended to all who opened their hearts to support these orphans and vulnerable children, emphasizing that no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. "May God generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others." - (2 Corinthians 9:8) On the Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time, our Faith Formation gathering commenced with a meditation on the glorious mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary. Mary, the Mother of Jesus, possessed a remarkable storytelling ability. It's quite likely that when Jesus was a young child, He listened to Mary's stories with great delight. The children took the lead in reciting the Holy Rosary while the Theotokos Singers guided us through singing Marian hymns. Following the catechesis and prayers, the children were treated to a warm and nutritious meal. We are truly grateful for the presence and assistance of the Theotokos Singers and the other volunteers who helped serve food and drinks. A big thank you goes out to our generous donors, many of whom prefer to remain anonymous, for providing the children with spaghetti, pancit palabok, bread, and juice drinks. Your support played a vital role in making today's catechesis, Rosary meditation, and feeding program possible. Please know that your generosity has a profound impact on the lives of these children. May the good Lord, who recognizes your secret acts of kindness, reward you openly and abundantly. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, pray for us! "From the lips of children and infants you have established praise!" - Psalm 8:2A

During lunchtime, Kairos Momentum (jeffjacinto.com) paid a visit to the Care for Paws Shelter and Sanctuary in Silang, Cavite, where 87 lively dogs reside. Our purpose was to provide them with essential supplies like rice and dog food. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the joyful chorus of 87 charming furry companions who enthusiastically accepted treats from us. Ate Rose and the shelter's staff prepared a delicious serving of Loming-Batangas for us, which we must admit was quite tasty. During our visit, we also shared stories about the rescue journeys of the shelter's dogs. They too, hope for the support of kind-hearted individuals to aid their mission of caring for stray and abandoned animals. I had the pleasure of reuniting with my favorite playmate at CPSS, Cookie the Poodle, who is a survivor of distemper.
To my fellow dog lovers, thank you for supporting this mission. Your generous gift insures that we are able to play our little part in feeding, rescuing, sheltering, and medically caring for the animals from the streets, the storms, and the spill. To Ate Rose and the staff of CPSS, we salute you. You are pawsome.

This morning, Kairos Momentum (jeffjacinto.com) paid a visit to the elderly residents at Kapatiran ng Poong San Jose Home for the Elderly in Imus City. We were warmly welcomed by Ate Lilian and the facility's Board of Directors, who provided us with insights into their activities and daily routines. The senior residents engage in physical exercises, watch movies, participate in communal prayers, join Bible sharing sessions, dine together, and more. They receive dedicated care from caregivers and social workers who tend to their every need. As a small gesture of support, we brought gifts such as rice, diapers, oatmeal, milk, food packs, and essential items to contribute to their noble cause. This visit marked the facility's reopening to visitors for the first time since the pandemic, and they are hopeful for more visits from sponsors and donors in the coming months.
None of our monthly missions would be possible without the support of generous donors and repeat volunteers. As Proverbs 19:17 says, "If you help the needy, you are lending to the Lord—and he will repay you." May God repay you with his choicest blessings! Barangay Addition Hills, the most densely populated suburb in Mandaluyong City, has faced recurring fire incidents, and it houses 108,896 residents. We visited BLK 41 Daycare Center to provide underprivileged children with school supplies, educational toys, and food packs. During our visit, some children shared their aspirations of becoming doctors, nurses, pilots, firefighters, or teachers. As they have a long journey ahead, our modest gifts will serve as a valuable starting point to help them achieve their dreams. A big thank you to my office mates and repeat sponsors for joining hands and hearts to bring happiness to these children. On this Twelfth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Kairos Momentum (jeffjacinto.com) as well as benefactors and volunteers, engaged with the children from the under poor neighborhood of Manresa in a gathering held at Our Lady of Fatima chapel located at the intersection of Mauban and Biak na Bato streets. The day began with a Holy Mass officiated by Fr. Jimmy Giron, OFM, which was attended by the children and their parents. Following the Mass, hot meals were served to everyone present. The volunteers led the children in praying the holy rosary and singing Marian anthems. Subsequently, the children participated in a small competition involving their favorite lato-lato toys, with cash prizes and gift packs awarded to the best players. The event concluded with the children expressing their gratitude for the blessings received. We extend our appreciation to all the benefactors and volunteers who contributed to this cause, as it is through the generosity of individuals like you that we are able to carry out our monthly missions. "May God generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others." (2 Corinthians 9:8) Due to my upcoming eye surgeries, specifically the removal of silicone oil in my left eye in July and a Vitrectomy on my right eye in August, we have decided to temporarily postpone our outreach activities for the months of July and August. Our next mission will resume on September 17, 2023. If it is in God's plan, we will have the opportunity to SEE each other again like before. Thank you and God is your reward. With officemates from #Datamatics to distribute 3 fishing boats to 3 families from the poorest of the poor. Happy Father's Day! This morning, we provided food for 300 impoverished, hungry, and undernourished children in Pinagkaloob I Resettlement Housing in Toclong, Kawit. The parents and children were very happy and grateful for the food, while the food sponsors and volunteers felt fortunate to be part of something that positively impacted others in both tangible and intangible ways. This event allowed us to act like "Jesuses" towards each other. We want to express our gratitude to everyone who contributed to this mission, including those who donated biscuits, candies, and food packs, as well as those who cooked and distributed the meals. We also want to thank the sponsor who covered the transportation costs. We would like to express our gratitude and wish everyone a joyous celebration of the Feast Day of Our Lady of Fatima and Mother's Day. May God bless you all. |
