feasting on the word
"If you meditate on the Scriptures it will appear to you in its brilliant splendor." ― St. Pio of Pietrelcina

Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time (C) Genesis 18:20-32 | Psalm 138:1-2, 2-3, 6-7, 7-8 | Colossians 2:12-14 | Luke 11:1-13 Good morning, brothers and sisters. After days of heavy rain and strong winds, the skies have finally cleared—and the sun is shining once more. Much like weathering a storm, life often brings us moments of uncertainty, fear, and waiting. But just as the sun returns, so too does God’s light break through when we hold on in prayer. Today’s readings remind us of the quiet strength of persistent prayer—how it shaped Abraham’s bold intercession, how it points us to the new life Christ offers, and how Jesus invites us to turn to God like a child to a loving Father.

Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time (C) Genesis 18:1-10a | Psalm 15:2-3, 3-4, 5 | Colossians 1:24-28 | Luke 10:38-42 Do you recognize and welcome God’s presence in your daily life? The readings for the Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time invite us into deeper awareness—urging us to notice where God is moving and to respond with trust, attentiveness, and a heart ready to serve. Presence is not just about seeing—it’s about receiving.
Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time (C) Deuteronomy 30:10-14 | Psalm 19:8, 9, 10, 11 | Colossians 1:15-20 | Luke 10:25-37 This weekend’s readings remind us that God feels close whenever we follow his ways. Since we were made through Jesus and for him, he’s really meant to be the center of our lives—and the more we live that out, the closer we get to him. But that’s not all. We’re also called to show the same kind of compassion he has, and to help anyone who needs it.
Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time (C) Isaiah 66:10-14c | Psalm 66:1-3, 4-5, 6-7, 16, 20 | Galatians 6:14-18 | Luke 10:1-12, 17-20 Cars play a vital role in our daily lives. They bring us to work, school, appointments—helping us meet responsibilities, stay on schedule, and care for those we love. More than that, they carry us to places where memories are made: family vacations, road trips with friends, journeys marked by laughter, storytelling, and joy. They allow us to respond swiftly in times of need—to run errands, rush to emergencies, or offer help to a neighbor. Over time, a car becomes more than a machine; it becomes woven into our life’s journey. On this Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, we turn to the familiar image of a car to reflect on the deeper journey God calls us to. He doesn’t just want us to go through life—He wants us to travel with Him. To move with purpose, toward healing, peace, and our true home. May we ask for the grace not just to travel, but to arrive where He lovingly leads us: into the joy of His Kingdom.
