Generous Living, Generous Giving
“For it is in giving that we receive.” ―St. Francis of Assisi
The heavy rains and flooding brought about by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng did not stop Kairos momentum and friends in their Mission Outreach on Sunday, October 30, 2022 in Manresa suburb, Quezon City. At 6 am, the community prayed the Most Holy Rosary along with the Carmeliste and Dominican sisters and with children acting as living beads. The Theotokos Singers provided leadership in singing Martian hymns at intervals.
At 7 am, Most Rev. Antonio R. Tobias, JCL, DD presided the Holy Eucharist with Fr. Jimmy Giron, OFM concelebrating. In his sharing, Bishop Tony pointed out that Jesus truly sees Zacchaeus. Not just his mistakes, not his sins, not his failures. And where Zacchaeus was so used to being ignored, hated, and overlooked, Jesus invites himself into Zacchaeus’s life. At the conclusion of the Holy Mass, Bp. Tony offered prayers of absolution and commendation to God. He blessed with holy water and incense the catafalque that represented all the deceased members of the comunity. After the Holy Mass, the Theotokos Singers serenaded Bp. Tony and guests with songs of love and prayer. At 8 am, 600 bowls of hot lugaw was served to the children, Mass attendees and the evacuees at the covered court. At 9 am, volunteers conducted coloring activity and games for 120 children. They distributed food packs, loot bags, crayons and coloring books to the energetic participants. Thank you again to all Kairos momentum sponsors and collaborators whose acts are known only to God. Your generous and untiring support make our monthly missions to the underprivileged possible. May God pour all his love and warmth on you in abundance! Rain or shine, we will honor our God divine!
